Kids under 6 years old are free of charge. For kids from 7 to 17 years old and students ISIC is $10 USA pp.
Tour description (the total duration 4,5 hours)
The Catherine Palace is the official summer residence of three Russian monarchs - Catherine I, Elizabeth I and Catherine II. It is located 26 km from St. Petersburg in the former Tsarskoye Selo (now Pushkin town).
Up to 15 thousand tourists visit the Palace daily. Its Amber Room is the most popular.
The amber room was created for the Prussian king Frederick I in the 18th century. Later it was donated to the Russian Emperor Peter I. During the reign of his daughter, Elizabeth I, this amber miracle adorned the summer imperial residence in Tsarskoye Selo near St. Petersburg.
In 1941, the Nazi troops took the famous decoration to Kaliningrad. Shortly before the storming of the city in the spring of 1945, the Amber Room disappeared. The search for the Amber Room is still ongoing.
At the moment, the Catherine Palace has unique copy of the Amber Room, which was created by talented Russian craftsmen.
10 tons of amber from the bottom of the Baltic Sea were given for restoration. The work lasted from 1979 to 2003.
People from different parts of Russia and from abroad want to visit the Catherine Palace to see the magnificent
baroque palace with its amazing Amber Room.
