Underwater Archaeology Museum with a collection of ships, raised from the seabed, may appear in Kronstadt. For the plans to build the new museum the city is ready to give the dock of Peter I, built in Kronstadt in the XVIII century. The total area of the complex should amount to 42 thousand square meters. As chairman of the investment committee said, the museum complex will consist of two parts: the dry and flood - to expose the ships and historical artifacts, found during underwater archaeological research. Filled with water docks will occupy an area of 12 thousand square meters. Recall, Dock of Peter the Great is located at Anchor Square in the center not far from Kronstadt Naval Cathedral and Summer Garden. It was established in 1719 century by the project of Peter I.
