Dirk was stolen from the monument to Krusenshtern in St. Petersburg05.08.2015
The decision to install the monument to the head of the first Russian world expedition Ivan Kruzenshtern was adopted in 1869, on the eve of the centenary of the Admiral’s birth. The figure of the bronze was cast in December 1872 after the model of Ivan Schroeder. Granite pedestal was designed by architect Hippolyte Monighetti. Opening of the monument took place on November 6, 1873. The monument is located in front of the Sea Cadet Corps, that the famous navigator graduated in 1788.
