For a long time the mosaic was considered to be lost.
Citizens and guests of the northern capital will be able to see the mosaic "Jesus blessing the young men" on the facade of St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television. May 12 the ceremony of the opening was held.
The unique outdoor mosaic was created in the end of the XIX th century. For a long time it was thought that the mosaic was dismantled, but it was just painted over. During the restoration of the building it was found.
It is the work of the famous Frolov’s workshop, which made mosaics for beautiful buildings in the city, such as the Church of the Savior on Blood and the house of Singer.
The unique masterpiece of the nationwide significance has been recreated.
By the end of the ceremony the icon was consecrated.
