In St. Petersburg, on May 8 grand celebration will be held on the Spit of Vasilyevsky Island on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Victory over fascism in the Great Patriotic War.
On this day, the audience will see vintage cars, a campground and a colorful presentation, which will recreate the atmosphere of May 1945. Also, people will enjoy a field kitchen.
For guests of the festival fashion show of 1940-1950-ies will be held on that day.
At the exhibition "Fire Point" anyone will be able to take photos in the cape and the soldier's helmet. Entrance to the event will be free.
For the youngest guests of the festival children's play area will be organized, where competitions will be held "Young scout" and "Young nurse", a quiz on the history of World War II and more.
Also, on May 8 on the Spit of Vasilyevsky Island St. Petersburg State University poster exhibition will be presented. The exhibition was prepared by Centre for the Study of Military History of St. Petersburg State University and detachment "Ingria", which is prospecting in the Leningrad region, where fierce fighting took place during the Great Patriotic War.
Unknown facts and photographs will be presented at the exhibition, which will tell about the heroism of teachers and students of the first university in Russia in 1941-1945.
