Balusters from Lermontov’s home.01.04.2015

 
A statement about the crime was sent to the prosecutor's office.
 
Law enforcement officers visited the apartment, in which its owner kept the balusters, presumably taken in the house №61 on Garden Street (Lermontov’s home).
 
Police seized them. Governance interagency affairs of Russia in St. Petersburg reports - Verification is being conducted.
 
We remind, that the other day information about the sale of  the  XIX century iron balusters appeared on one of the free classified ads website. Balusters are from the house, where Russian poet Mikhail Lermontov lived and worked.
 
The Committee on State Control, Use and Protection of Monuments of History and Culture of St. Petersburg (KGIOP) said that, committee members have recorded the loss of cast metal balusters on stair railings.
 
KGIOP also noticed that, land and building on Garden street were planned to give the Mariinsky Theatre.
