A new museum in Pushkin city.15.03.2017

Pushkin town is very popular due to the luxurious Catherine Palace, which was designed by the famous Rastrelli for Elizabeth I. In 2016  one more historical place has been restored and opened for visitors in Pushkin town (Tsarskoe Selo). This is the Imperial Arsenal.

Originally it was hunting pavilion, later it was rebuilt on the order of Alexander I. Then Nicholas I decided to place his collection of weapons in the pavilion. The building was given the name "Imperial Weapons Museum".

During the Second World War this building was almost destroyed by the fascists. In 2012, the Ministry of Culture provided funds for the rescue of the Tsarskoe Selo Arsenal. Now the museum has been restored and is waiting for visitors.
