Tour description (the total duration 9 hours)
During the tour day You drive by or make photo stops, depending on your itinerary, at the most beautiful sights of the city (Sphinxes, Spit of Bazil Island, Rostral Columns, Log cabin of Peter I, Cruiser “Aurora“, Trinity bridge, Smolny Convent, Summer garden, Field of Mars, Michael’s castle, Church on Spilled Blood, Nevsky prospect, monument to Catherine the Great, Alexandrinskij theater, Rossi street, Square of Arts, Russian museum, St. Isaac’s cathedral, monument to Nicholas I, Mariinskij Palace, St. Nicholas Cathedral, Mariinsky Theatre, Yusupov's Palace, Decembrists Square, monument to Peter I ( Bronze Horseman), Admiralty, Palace Square, Alexander Column, General Headquartes, Winter Palace (Hermitage museum), Palace bridge).
Visit inside some of unusual subway stations, that are nicknamed the underground palaces, take a short ride .
You visit inside Peter and Paul Fortress, the first structure of St.- Petersburg. The foundation stone was laid by Peter I himself on May 16, 1703. Visit Peter and Paul Cathedral, the burial place of Russian tsars from Peter I to the last Russian Tsar, Nicholas I, and his family. Its golden spire is the symbol of the modern city.
Visit inside the Church of Redemption or the Holy Savior on the Spilled Blood. A place where the Russian Tsar, Alexander II, was mortally wounded and his blood was spilled in 1881. Later, his son, Alexander III, ordered to build this unusual church in honor of Alexander II. It is beautifully decorated with mosaics.
Visit inside the famous Yusupov's Palace. The palace was bought by Nicholas Yusupov the elder in 1835.You have a look at the original interiors of the rich Palace and the exhibition of the murder of Grigory Rasputin. Rasputin was a very special person, kind of fortune-teller. He could treat hemophilia, the disease of only Nicholas II's heir, Alexis. He was assassinated by the members of the nobility in the dining-room of the Palace in 1916.
After lunch You visit inside the Hermitage Museum, which is the largest museum of art in Russia. It numbers more 3 million works of art, representing different countries, people and ages. The museum consists of 5 buildings connected by the passages (The Winter Palace, the Little Hermitage, the Old Hermitage, the New Hermitage, the Hermitage Theater). Through the passages You take a walk through all the buildings. Have a look at some of state rooms of the Winter Palace, the works of Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael's Loggias, the works of French Impressionists and more.
At the end of the tour You walk along Nevsky Prospect, the main thoroughfare of the city with various shops, cafes and restaurants.
